I was both disappointed and hypedĭo plan on getting it when it drops in price a a bit). Capcom fans wanted to see old Dante back, and for now this offering is more than any fan of the series. Then I spoiled myself again and ended up seeing what happens in this game all over Youtube. Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition is an excellent remake that serves its purpose well. More trailers come out for Special Edition, I get even more excited.
Great game plus great hardware doesn't always equal great experience. The smash-hit stylish action game DMC4 is back and better than ever, boasting new playable characters and game modes - Vergil is back and better than ever.
When I saw the reveal trailer at the end of DmC: DefinitiveĮdition.Well, you don't really need to know how excited I got when they revealed Vergil and his one quote, haha. When considering Capcom's Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition official site, for example, exhibit A would be DMC4's original PC port in 2008, a straight-from-console affair that could only be controlled with a pad. Then in 2015 (or was it 2014?), I heard about the Special Edition release all over Facebook in a couple groups I'm an admin in. Mission 19 is what frustrates me the most (I got lucky on this mode though, now I'm stuck on Hell & Hell mode).
But when I got to Dante Must Die Mode, holy crap did I ever So I managed to get it (the Collector's Edition version) withīut when I played it, for some reason I started to get really bored due to spoiling myself and the repetitiveness of the game. Things were blatantly left open for a sequel, but main character Dante making peace with Nero (the reincarnation of his troubled brother) was a natural stopping point. To start with, as the terminus of the original DMC series, it offered a certain amount of closure to the franchise. I wanted to get this game so bad, even after watching the demos I thought it looked pretty awesome and made me wanna get it. Devil May Cry 4 is an odd game to resurrect, for a few reasons. But when I found out about Nero replacingĭante, and how Dante had the stubble going on, I was not comfortable about what was gonna happening in this game until the 2007 trailers were released, and the screenshots. When I saw the first few trailers for this game, they were nothing like when the game was released, of course.
